Applied Modeling

The study module introduces the essence of the Unified Modeling Language (UML) and gives students understanding of principles of knowledge representation models construction in artificial intelligence systems.

Applied Modeling


The course introduces the essence of the Unified Modeling Language (UML). It comprises detailed description of the recent version of the language and practical recommendations how to model applied program systems. The course forms long-term competitive advantage for students. The matter is skills in ordinary programming technologies become obsolete in a year or two, but the UML is valid for decades.


Simulation of Intelligent Systems


Course objective is to give students understanding of principles of knowledge representation models construction in artificial intelligence systems and practical application of logic programming languages on an example of declarative language Turbo Prolog.


Russian Civilization


The course’s main goal is to give students a coherent knowledge of Russia’s historical background relevant to its realities of the last decades, to analyze the major lines of the country’s transformation theory and features of its practical implementation at the last stages of the Communist experiment and post-Communist chaotic dismantlement of the country, to disclose and evaluate achievements and failures of ultra-liberal recipes for the post-Communist modernization and its most prominent features, thus contributing for better understanding of Russia’s present stage of development.
