The module aims at improving the linguistic and intercultural communication competences in the field of Russian Language on the ground of Culture Capital of Russia

RUSSIAN LANGUAGE (levels 1-2)

 

The course is designed for students having studied the Russian language and wishing to improve their skills. It requires having learned the basic structure of Russian language. The course is aimed at building on the structures of the language and refining four main skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. By the end of the course students will be able to skim texts and distinguish the main ideas, participate in communications; read texts in Russian, understand and retell the contents of written or heard texts and make up statements. The course includes individual and group work and self study. Student activities are such as conversation, role playing, performing oral and written exercises and reading texts.

 

RUSSIAN ART & ARCHITECTURE


The main purpose of the course is to give a general overview and an idea of the progress of Russian art from XI up to XX century in a historical context, to acquaint students with the principal trends of Russian art and architecture, the formation of the styles of different monuments as examples and the creations of the most remarkable artists of Russia. Two lectures will take place in the museums of St. Petersburg.

Accommodation:

 

IIEP does its best to create comfortable conditions of life for the international students. International students live in the student dormitory. Student dormitory is a semidetached building to IIEP. Compartments comprise 2 double rooms with shared facilities: a small kitchen, a bathroom and a toilet.

 

All apartments are equipped with a bed, bedside table, desk, chairs, wardrobe, curtains, and bed clothes (includ. mattress, blanket, pillow, sheets, pillow cases). Kitchen contains electric hot board, refrigerator, kitchen table, and stools. Most rooms have technical capacity for fixed Internet connection.

The accommodation conditions should be discussed in the correspondence with program coodinator.
