1. In the framework of TEMPUS IV University participates in consortia projects:


  • Development of Master Degree programs "Engineer-economist in the sphere of power engineering and sustainable development", 144747-TEMPUS-1-2008-1FR-TEMPUS-JPCR, 2008-2010


Partners: University of Pierre Mendes, Grenoble, France (Contractor), 15 Universities and organizations from Italy, Germany, Kazakhstan, Russia
Project goal: In cooperation with European, Russian and Kazakh Technical Universities and Universities of Economics to develop Masters’ Degree programs and training programs “Engineer-economist”. These programs will remove gaps in the professional knowledge and competences that are necessary in fundamental and continuous education for sustainable development of enterprises and other institutions in the sphere of power engineering.

  • International Networking for Modernization of tourism education and developing academic mobility, 114641-TEMPUS-1-2008-1-FI-TEMPUS-JPCR


Partners: Universities of Applied Sciences Savonia, Kuopio, Finland (Contractor), 10 Universities and other organizations from Portugal, Greece, Latvia, Ukraine, Russia.
Project Goal: Creation of University Training Network of Tourist Agencies (UTNTA) for modernization of training in tourism, for training of competitive specialists taking into account needs of tourist institutions and hotels of Russia and Ukraine. It would stimulate development of academic mobility and youth tourism on basis of Bologna requirements and best practice of European Universities.

  • "Developing a model of professional recognition of foreign qualifications in Russia", 145177-TEMPUS-2008-IT-SMGR


Partners: Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science, University of Genoa (Italy), University of Bangor (Wales, United Kingdom); Nuffic - the Dutch organization responsible for the recognition, the regional authorities, universities, Yekaterinburg, Vladivostok, St. Petersburg
Project Goal: Develop a model for recognition of foreign qualifications obtained abroad, in order to access the Russian labor market in the light of international experience as an example of the construction industry. Creation and implementation of the model will help to protect the health and safety of Russian citizens, as well as closer ties between employers and educational institutions in the light of the Bologna Process.

Project Goal: Develop electronic means of communication to achieve international cooperation in education through the creation of electronic educational platform that provides instructors and students access to educational resources, university networks and qualitative improvement of educational programs provided by each university.


  • "Development of engineering programs in accordance with the European qualifications framework and the EQF European Framework of Standards accreditation of engineering programs EUR-ACE", 511121-TEMPUS-1-2010-1-DE-TEMPUS-JPCR

Partners: University of Applied Sciences, Business and Design (Wismar, Germany), Tomsk Polytechnic University (Russia), Moscow Bauman State Technical University (Russia), St. Petersburg State Polytechnical University (Russia), European Society of preparation engineers (SEFI) (Brussels, Belgium), European network of accreditation of engineering education (ENAEE) (Brussels, Belgium), Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania), Lucian Blaga University in Sibiu (Romania).
Project Goal: Promote the reform and modernization of higher education, improve the quality of the partner countries, promote mutual understanding between peoples and cultures of the European Union and partner countries.


International projects in cooperation with Department of International Cooperation Management:

  • TEMPUS-2008: The development of the Model for professional recognition of foreign qualifications in Russia (JEP-2009-2012)

The intention is to develop the model for professional recognition of education acquired in foreign countries on the basis of international practice in construction industry with the purpose of protection of national labour market and further extension of this model to other branches of economy

  • TEMPUS-2006: Innovative Quality Assurance Technology in International Education (SCM_T062B06-2006)

The further training of higher education institutions personnel from St. Petersburg, Samara, Irkutsk in the sphere of quality assurance of innovative technology for education process organization including module course design, application of workload credit system and students record ranking system has been accomplished.

  • FTPED-2006: The Development and Approbation of Methodology Manuals on Recognizing Periods of Study Abroad and Preparing Europassport for Students and Graduates of Russian Higher Education Institutions (State Contract of 11.09.2006 № П248)

The methodology for recognizing periods of study abroad and preparing Europassport has been developed. The elements of Europassport have been adapted to the Russian conditions. The Internship Passport, which helps to reflect students’ competences acquired during planned Internships and facilitate their employability, has been elaborated and introduced in 2 higher education institutions.

  • TEMPUS-2004: Network of University Educational Credentials Evaluators (JEP_25071_2004)

On the basis of international experience, experts have been prepared and network consisting of 10 centers for evaluation of foreign educational credentials in all Federal Regions of Russian Federation have been established, which improves the quality of admission of citizens with foreign educational credentials to Russian universities.

  • TEMPUS-2004: Euro-Russian Network for Dissemination of Good Practice (NP-21011 2000)

A methodology for dissemination of both TEMPUS and national projects results has been developed. Series of workshops for personnel of the Russian higher education institutions on the results disseminations technique have been held.

  • TEMPUS-1998: Academic Recognition of Educational Credentials and Periods of Study (JEP № 10484-98)

Major principles of academic recognition of educational credentials and periods of study abroad have been worked out. Four workshops on the further training of the Russian university personnel in this field have been held.

Project goal: To develop educational cooperation and build high-quality Joint Master’s Degree and doctoral training programs in English in the areas of strengths of the participating institutions in accordance with the principles of Bologna Process

Subject area: SPbSPU participates in this project in one subject area – Information technologies, Distributed Intellectual Systems Department.

Project goal: The project is created in support to CBU project that aims to build high-quality Joint Master’s Degree and doctoral training programs in English in accordance with the principles of Bologna Process

  • Modernization of regional educational system of Tver Region using Finnish experience (2007-2009)

Project goal: Modernization of regional professional education system of Tver Region and development of model of cooperation with social partners and business using Finnish experience
