INTERNATIONAL EVENTS
Every two years St.Petersburg State Polytechnical University holds a International Science and Practice Conference on INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION AND SCIENCE COOPERATION.
The purpose of the conference is to strengthen the partnership of universities and industrial companies, to coordinate the issues of academic co-operation in science and education, to develop joint programmes in the framework of the European educational area.
Representatives of 21 foreign Universities of Austria, China, Finland, Germany, Japan, Italy, Korea, Poland, Singapore, Sweden, the Ukraine, the United Kingdom, the USA, as well as representatives of such companies as BP, Siemens, General Motors, LG Electronics, Motorola, National Instruments, Philips Ltd., Schlumberger Ltd., Schneider Electrics, and others participated in the previous conference in St. Petersburg held on June 21-23, 2006 and June 2-6, 2008. In the course of the Conference, plenary and session meetings were held along such trends as International academic co-operation and International co-operation in the sphere of education, science and production industry.

April, 3. Prof. Dr. Rudolf Schilling, vice-president of Technical University of Munich (Germany) visits SPbSPU and will be awarded with Honorary Doctor Diploma.

April, 3. Prof. Dr. Hans Irschik, director of Institute of Technical Mechanics, Johannes Kepler University of Linz, (Austria) visits SPbSPU and will be awarded with Honorary Doctor Diploma.

April 16-19. Delegation from University of Stuttgart (Germany), headed by rector Wolfram Ressel, visits Laser Technology Center, SPbSPU, and signs Minutes between libraries.

June, 18. Delegation from Research Center Juelich (Germany). Round table with representatives of SPbSPU, Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University “LETI” and Ioffe Physical Technical Institute.

June, 25-28. Professor Malcolm Gillies and Prof. Dr. Constantine Dinos Arcoumanis, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and International) of London City University, (Great Britain) visit SPbSPU. Professor Arcoumanis will be awarded with Honorary Doctor Diploma.
